Fun with Candles

So, I love candles and have been playing with them a lot lately. I saw this idea somewhere and decided to try it, so I went and got some baby pumpkins and some candles. I had to use a nail and make holes in both the pumpkins and the candles after snapping off the stalks, and then use a short toothpick to secure them together. They ended up being pretty sturdy, so then I just burned them down to different levels and used a lit barbecue skewer to make the drips. Mmmmm, fire.

I went to a new (for me) thrift store to look for creepy looking candle holders, and I found the perfect ones! They were $2.00 each, which is a bit more than I would usually like to spend on such things in a thrift store, but they had so much potential!

I brought them home and spray-painted them an antique silver color and then distressed them with black paint and a sponge brush. I found these cool black candles at HL (Hobby Lobby, of course!) and used another candle to drip wax down it so I didn't ruin the cool tapered top. Man I love Halloween!
